Debundscha

3000 inhabitants
700 children
Imagine a community with about 3,000 inhabitants, with a record number of rainfall & overall wetness, a village that lies on the flanks of Mount Cameroon, where there are plenty of water sources but one without clean water. – this is Debundcha.

There is no portable water available in this village - especially at the Debundscha Primary School.
This is the school attended by some 700 children from the region, who suffer unnecessarily from water-related complaints.

In the light of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is especially urgent that school children have access to sanitation and that hygiene is observed.

Since Debundscha doesn't have favorable circumstances for a water system. Which is normally our first choice, we decided to drill a borehole and provide a filter system and proper care for clean (drinking) water.

The objective of this project is to improve the health situation in Debundscha by decreasing water-related diseases, such as diarrhea, typhoid and cholera.

The intended results of the project are:
- Running drinking water is available on the school campus and in the community.
- The hygiene and sanitation facilities of the school and village have improved.

The We’re All Liquid Art Exhibition is dedicated to raise awareness and funds for the construction of a solar operated borehole in Debundscha.

We’re All Liquid also aims at promoting and showcasing Cameroonian culture and creativity. This will be a platform to talk about their passion, showcase their art and show public support for the cause.

Location: Annie Kadji gallary, Bonapriso Douala
Dates: 26 March till 9 April 2022
Time of event: 6pm till 12am
