Mbah

240 kinderen
3 extra klaslokalen
In the village of Mbah education is improved in a collaboration of LiveBuild and Knowledge for Children. 240 kids get better education. The project involves a books program, training sessions and investments in the school infrastructure.

A strong community

Mbah is a community in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. The old class rooms have been built by the Parents Teachers Association of the school (PTA). There were three class rooms constructed with sandstone bricks available for six classes full of energetic kids. As a result, overcrowded class rooms with affected the quality of education badly.

We support the PTA to renovate the existing structures and add new structures like toilets, additional class rooms and an office space. The community contributes what they can, like labour and local available materials. After all, it is their school.

KforC as a partner

Mbah is the first project in which we collaborated with KforC. KforC believes that knowledge is the key to a brighter future for children. KforC specializes in book programs and capacity building of schools and teachers to improve upon the education.

Project activities

The project consists of the following activities: strengthening and make over of the existing class rooms, 3 new class rooms, an office and storage space, implementation of school books program, capacity building of teachers on didactics, and seminars on HIV/Aids, sanitation and hygiene and malaria.

The Mbah project was concluded in 2014.
